Serving the purpose of both entry gates and a museum exhibit at the Exploratorium at Pier 15 in San Francisco, the waterjet cut imagery depicts the tidal patterns of May 1969, the date of the opening of the Museum. Unique features include no-header frames, ADA automated compliance, cast silicone custom glazing in custom stainless clip system. Of formed, welded, milled and painted mild steel, stainless steel custom hardware.

This DDF designed and built art piece is mounted in the courtyard of our client's streamline moderne style home. It serves as a focal point from the large kitchen windows. The black powdercoated flat bar assembly takes cues from original metalwork on the house's facade.

A three dimensional adaptation of The City of Oakland's official logo, this 2" diameter rolled, formed, milled and welded steel pipe sculpture was commissioned by The Oakland Museum of California to mark the entry point of the newly renovated Natural Sciences Galleries at their 2012 opening. It remains at OMCA as a permanent sculpture installation.

This sculpture of a rice plant was used as an entry screen for Seed Bistro in San Francisco. The sculpture was fabricated of steel sheet and round bar per client design with detail by DDF. Additionally, two custom door pulls were fabricated in the shape of spoons. Both pieces are meticulously crafted, without any visible fasteners.

This sculpture is a single weldment, created to fill a low-flame fireplace in the client's residence. It is comprised of 1/2" round tube with seamless welds, bent into a compact cloud of 20-some loops. Finished with a heat treated grey-black finish.

These four matching window screens serve as added security for a Craftsman style house in San Francisco. Staying true to the period details, the aluminum bronze square bar pulls inspiration from existing motifs in the house. A dark bronze patina with wax protectant gives the screens a depth of finish.
