DeFauw Design & Fabrication was mentioned in this month's Dwell magazine article, "Home Firewall", featuring Regina Bustamante and Scott MacFiggen's Noe Valley home. We worked with architect Christi Azevedo in designing and fabricating the balcony guardrail, stainless steel stair handrail, retractable awning, and rolling wall display panels, among other features of this tasteful renovation.

DDF was proudly mentioned in the June 2015 issue of Dwell magazine for our work on the Sonoma County home of Lars Richardson and Laila Carlson. Architect Casper Mork-Ulnes designed a large, operable skylight to allow a veritable jungle to grow inside the building.
"Curb mounted above the roof trusses, the skylights are multi-paneled with an operable rectilinear section in the middle; the side sections are custom fitted to the curved walls."

A few years ago, Henry had the opportunity to help friend and colleague, Christi Azevedo renovate a turn of the century carriage house on her recently purchased property in Oakland. The 360 square-foot former pigeon roost was in desperate need of some TLC and Henry was in need of a living space. So he took on the challenge of transforming the carriage house into an livable modern loft and then got to enjoy residing there for the next year.
The renovation came off so well they even gathered some friendly attention from the guys over at Dwell Magazine. Check out the awesome little shout out for this inspired little house!
